New video series presented by women for women kicks off with an episode all about EVs
Chasing Cars – powered by Budget Direct – has partnered with Mamamia to create a brand new six-part video series designed to help women find the perfect new car for their lifestyle, priorities, and budget.
Kicking off with Episode 1 – “The EV Curious” – Mamamia’s Annaliese Todd joins Chasing Cars presenter Shana Zlotin to dive into the world of electric vehicles. If you’ve ever wondered whether an EV could work for you, this episode is the perfect place to start.
We explore everything from affordability to usability, answering all the key questions around batteries, recharging, and running costs in a clear, relatable, jargon-free way.
Key questions answered in the episode include:
Are EVs affordable yet?
What are some of the best electric cars available?
What’s the difference between Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric Vehicles?
What is ‘Single Pedal Driving’?
How do EVs accelerate so quickly?
Where can I charge an EV?
Are EVs cheaper to run than petrol cars?
Can I charge at home with a regular power socket?
How far can EVs travel on a full battery charge?
How long do EV batteries last?
Shana and Annaliese explore the world of EVs in a Tesla Model Y – a natural choice to represent the segment because it is both the world’s and Australia’s best-selling electric car.
In May 2026, it was the outright best-selling new car in Australia.
“If you’ve been thinking about getting an EV lately but, like me and a lot of us at Mamamia, know literally nothing about EVs, then thankfully we found an expert in Shana from Chasing Cars,” says Mamamia’s Annaliese Todd.
“We were excited to answer all of Mamamia’s questions on electric cars,” says Chasing Cars presenter Shana Zlotin. “Buying an EV isn’t a straightforward decision for everyone, and we hope this episode will help women decide whether a fully electric car is right for them or not.”
The ‘EV Curious’ episode features several other electric cars that are among Chasing Cars’ favourite EVs, including the BYD Atto 1, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Ioniq 6N, Hyundai Ioniq 9, Kia EV3, MG4 Urban, Polestar 2, Renault Scenic and Skoda Enyaq.
Chasing Cars and Mamamia is a natural collaboration for a YouTube car series presented by women for women.
