Toyota bZ4X Touring 2026: Big T’s wagon-bodied EV flagship priced from $69,990 to contend Kia EV6 and Skoda Enyaq

Flagship, extended-body bZ4X serves up more power, size and boot space for a higher price, $2000 up on its standard-bodied counterpart

Toyota has priced its 280kW dual-motor bZ4X Touring from $69,990 before on-road costs – just $3,990 above last year’s entry price for the bZ4X front-driver.

The forthcoming Touring flagship will sit at the top of the three-variant-strong bZ4X model range, offered at a slender $2000 premium over its shorter all-wheel-drive counterpart.

A high-powered AWD flagship, the bZ4X Touring will contend with midsize premium electric rivals such as the $87,660 Kia EV6 GT-Line, the $75,490 Skoda Enyaq RS, and the $68,900 Tesla Model Y LR AWD, all of which offer dual-electric motors, high outputs and premium equipment.

The Touring arrives as Toyota’s second-most powerful car on sale in Australia, just 5kW behind the 285kW/500Nm GR Supra. That model will be sidelined without a direct replacement by the end of this year, leaving the new Touring as Toyota’s all-out performance flagship.

Sprinting from 0-100km/h in the bZ4X Touring takes 4.4 seconds 0.7 seconds faster than the standard AWD – with a front and rear electric motor each producing 167kW for a combined system output of 280kW.

A 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery shared across all bZ4X variants offers 488km of driving range, and claims to offer rapid DC charging from 10-80 percent in 30 minutes, peaking at 150kW. Three-phase 22kW AC charging is also supported, with a full-from-empty charge penned to take around 3.5 hours

The bZ4X Touring features an extended body, adding 140mm of length over the rear axle to measure 4830mm in total. Kerb weight increases slightly, while boot space expands from 452-litres to 550L

Further equipment over the bZ4X AWD includes restyled 20-inch black alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, new-look roof rails and wheel arches, and a rear window wiper. Khaki synthetic leather upholstery debuts as an exclusive option.

The bZ4X Touring’s sub-$70K price reflects a new era of EV pricing for Toyota, first exposed with the base model bZ4X FWD’s heavy price reduction in December of last year. It shaved off over $10,000 in sticker price to start from $55,990, while the upmarket AWD dropped $6910 to start from $67,990.

Currently Toyota’s sole EV offering, repricing the bZ4X was a crucial decision to bridge the gap between it and the vastly more popular Toyota RAV4 midsize SUV, which starts from $45,990 for the base plugless hybrid or $58,840 for the base model plug-in.

A further incentive for the Big T is sales volume. Tesla enjoyed over 20,000 sales of its coveted Model Y medium SUV across 2025, while the bZ4X shifted just 858 units. For context, nearly 52,000 Toyota RAV4’s found new homes last year.
