Quadrifoglio performance flagships of the Giulia and Stelvio range are landing by year’s end with price rises to $153,700 and $162,700 respectively
Refreshed styling, new tech and a new mechanical limited-slip differential headline the changes for Alfa Romeo’s facelifted Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio performance range-toppers.
The hot QVs – landing in December – will complete the MY23 Giulia sedan and Stelvio SUV line-ups, following the recent arrivals of updated Ti and Veloce grades.
As expected, the Giulia and Stelvio QVs have price hikes over outgoing models. The sedan is up $2,000 to $153,700 before on-roads, while the SUV also climbs $2,000 to $162,700.
Alfa Romeo Australia has secured eight QV 100o Anniversario editions – five Giulia QV 100o and three Stelvio QV 100o – released to celebrate 100 years of Quadrifoglio.
Only 100 global units per model will be made, and all of Australia’s allocation has already sold.
Both the Stelvio QV and Giulia QV retain their 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol engines, offering 375kW and 600Nm. An eight-speed automatic transmission is the only gearbox offered.
The all-wheel-drive SUV hits 100km/h in 3.8 seconds, bettering the rear-wheel-drive sedan’s 3.9 seconds.
Fresh for these facelifted QVs is an all-new mechanical limited-slip differential, which Alfa promises “contributes to the improvement of the cars’ behaviour and traction, by optimising torque transfer and increasing stability, agility and cornering speed.”
Aesthetically, both cars gain new 3+3 full-LED Matrix headlights, refreshed rear LED light clusters, and a new finish for the Trilobo grille and lower bumper intakes. The Giulia QV taillights have a smoked glossy black finish and the Stelvio QV’s gain a transparent finish.
The cabin now houses a fully digital 12.3-inch digital driver display, with QV models getting an exclusive “Race” configuration. This screen gives “all the essential information every driver wants to keep under control: tachometer, speedometer, and shift light for manual driving.”
There’s a new 3D finish in real carbon fibre on the dash, doors and centre console, upping the raciness beside a standard Alcantara steering wheel and red starter button.
Carry-overs from the outgoing models include Alfa’s liberal use of carbon fibre. Both QV models feature a carbon fibre driveshaft, while the Giulia’s bonnet, spoiler and side skirts are of the lightweight material. An exposed carbon fibre roof for the sedan is an extra $6500.
The Alfista who snared QV 100o variants were asked to pay an additional $13,000 over normal QV sticker prices.
The special edition $166,700 Giulia and $175,200 Stelvio added gold brake callipers, gold commemorative badges and carbon for the front V-bezel and mirror caps.
Inside, these QV 100o have black and Alcantara leather with gold stitching, plus a golden Quadrifoglio on the dashboard.
The Giulia QV 100o includes an exposed carbon roof, while the Stelvio QV 100o has a panoramic sunroof and choice of red, black or green special / metallic paint.
For the normal QVs, carbon ceramic brakes are an extra $15,950, while electric Sparco carbon fibre front seats add $8,350 to the bill.
