Pricing starts from $42,990 for Korea’s newest rival for Ranger and co, while body-colour fender flares revealed as first step to address Tasman ute’s polarising design
Kia has confirmed pricing for its first ever challenger to the likes of the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux, while also releasing the first official images of its Tasman ute featuring body-colour fenders.
The Kia Tasman dual-cab ute will be priced from $42,990 before on-road costs for the base 4×2 version, with 4×4 variants starting from $49,990 RRP.
Five grades run from S, SX, SX+, X-Line up to the flagship, off-road-focused X-Pro that costs from $74,990.
Eight exterior colours are offered, with Tan Beige and Clear White adopting body-coloured fender flares instead of the dark-grey flares that contributed to a polarising response to the Tasman’s global reveal last year.
The beige Tasman with matching fender flares was previewed by the Weekender concept shown recently at the Seoul motor show.
The six other available exterior colours stick with dark fender flares. The body-colour flares miss out on the rear fender storage standard on X-Line and X-Pro models.
Kia Australia hasn’t ruled out further exterior colours being offered with the matching fender flares.
Pricing for dual-cab chassis and single-cab chassis Tasman variants will be announced later, arriving in August and late 2025, respectively.
All Tasmans are powered by a 154kW/440Nm four-cylinder turbo diesel engine with eight-speed auto, and all feature a 3500kg braked towing capacity supported by an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller.
S, SX, SX+ and X-Line models adopt a mechanical locking rear differential, while the X-Pro features an electronically controlled locking diff.
Payload exceeds one tonne for all models, though the Tasman is available with lower payload options to meet novated-lease requirements.
