Chrysler 300C: final American edition evokes spirit of Australian-spec SRT

The 300 SRT sold in Australia was popular with New South Wales highway patrol, but the USA will only receive a final 2000 units before the model bows out

While the Chrysler 300C was discontinued in January 2021 in Australia, in the US, the model is at last calling it a day.

Chrysler will retire the current-generation 300 model in the United States in 2023  with a proper send off. The last 300C will celebrate 70 years of the Chrysler 300

The final edition of the sedan uses a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 engine that produces 360kW/646Nm and features four-piston Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential, adaptive dampers, an valved exhaust system and black exhaust tips as standard.

The package evokes the SRT models of Chrysler 300 that were sold in Australia and used extensively within the New South Wales police force.

Inside, the 300C is fitted with a Laguna leather interior and silver-stitched accents and also features a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and safety features including lane-departure warning, full collision warning plus and advanced brake assist.

The last Chrysler 300C will go on sale for US$55,000.

Isn’t this 300C the same as the Australian-delivered cars?

Yep, essentially. The Australian-sold Chrysler 300 SRT used the same 6.4-litre ‘Hemi’ naturally-aspirated V8 engine that produced 350kW of power and 637Nm of torque

The big V8 sedan was capable of running a 0-00km/h time of five seconds thanks to an eight-speed automatic transmission. No manual box was offered.

The Chrysler 300 is in its second-generation LD generation that was first introduced in 2011. Australia scored both the 300 Luxury and 300 SRT V8 variants up until 2021 when the car was axed.

In January 2021, the Chrysler 300 SRT called it a day, with the last remaining SRTs used in the New South Wales police force as highway patrol vehicles up until November 2021.
