Mazda’s three-row SUV is getting new tech and colours and is due in Australia in March 2023
Mazda will update its CX-8 large SUV by adding tweaks to the car’s styling, colours and interior technologies in 2023.
The CX-8’s current petrol and diesel powertrains are very likely to stay as they are, along with the option of front- and all-wheel drive.
Mazda has said that the CX-8 SUV will “live a long life” beside the upcoming, more luxurious CX-80 model.
The CX-8 competes with the likes of the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento here on Australian shores.
Mazda Australia has confirmed that the updated CX-8 is due to land locally in March 2023.
The Japanese automaker has continued its Kodo design language themes by including a new grille design, restyled front and rear bumpers and a new headlight and tail-light design for the CX-8.
Mazda has added its new Rhodium white colour to a range of eight available colours for the CX-8.
The larger 10.25-inch central infotainment system will now be standard across the range, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A 7.0-inch instrument cluster, USB-C charging ports and remote window control system are all new features for the large SUV in 2023.
Mazda says it has also worked to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels in the CX-8 to make “a quieter, smoother ride for the family”.
Both petrol and diesel Skyactiv engines are likely to remain for the 2023 update. The option of a 140kW/252Nm 2.5-litre petrol four-cylinder engine or a 140kW/450Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine is likely for 2023.
