Suzuki Jimny 2026: new Rhino asks for $10,000 more, but offers no off-road upgrades

Rather than enhancing the Jimny’s impressive off-road ability, the new Rhino grade has focused on making its punchy 4×4 look cooler without adding substance

Suzuki Australia has now fully unveiled a new ‘Rhino’ grade for the five-door Jimny XL, which is set to arrive in showrooms in July.

Rather than an ultimate off-road grade, the Rhino is focused on retro stickers over performance-oriented enhancements, with the 4×4 available exclusively in the Kinetic Yellow paintwork previously reserved for the three-door.

It’s unclear how many will be made, but production is said to be limited, with prices kicking off at $44,990 (before on-roads) for the five-speed manual and $47,490 for the four-speed automatic – representing a $10,000 jump over the regular XL.

Appearance upgrades primarily consist of the retro-style side decal and 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with a ‘Shuriken-inspired design’, but appear to still be wrapped in light-duty, highway terrain tyres.

Other tweaks include satin silver side skirts, a heritage-style front grille, and an array of Rhino badging.

Inside, the cabin features eight-colour ambient lighting, a retro-gear shifter on manual models, an upgraded Pioneer sound system, leather door handles and more Rhino badging around the interior.

Suzuki Australia has also made special note of the customer delivery pack that throws in a long list of Rhino-branded paraphernalia, including a blanket, bucket hat, water bottle and even a box of chocolate.

No performance upgrades are listed, with the 75kW/130Nm 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder expected to carry over unchanged.
