All model-year 2022 Touaregs sold before December 31 will come with a complimentary five-year service plan worth $3600
Volkswagen has today announced it will include a complimentary five-year service plan on all MY22 Touareg large SUVs it sells in Australia before December 31.
The German automaker told Chasing Cars that there are over 1000 Touaregs currently on their way to Australia, with the vast majority of these cars eligible for a free service plan.
Volkswagen occasionally offers its ‘Care Plan’ servicing packages as a sweetener on new cars – and in the case of the Touareg, which shares its platform with the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne – it represents a significant discount.
The plan is a complimentary five-year/75,000km service pack that is valued at $3600.
Also available with complimentary servicing are MY22 examples of the Volkswagen Arteon sedan and wagon until the end of 2022.
“We’re looking after our large-car customers,” said Volkswagen Australia public relations manager Daniel DeGasperi when quizzed on the motivation for the offer.
Three variants of Touareg are available in Australia: a 170TDI, a 210TDI Elegance and a 210TDI R-line range topper.
Pricing for the large SUV starts at $87,990 for the 170TDI and tops out at $116,290 for the more powerful diesel R-Line.
Standard equipment on the 170TDI includes 19-inch alloy wheels, Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, DAB radio, a 9.2-inch central touchscreen with navigation, Vienna leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and lane departure warning, to name a few.
A hotter performance Touareg R with plug-in hybrid power is set to arrive in Australia within the coming months, according to an earlier Chasing Cars report.
