This 459kW, 3.6-second electric rocketship aims to boost the American marque’s modest local fortunes
Cadillac has just launched its first-ever fully electric model under its V-Series performance subbrand with the 2027 Lyriq-V, the American carmaker’s quickest car ever.
At $99,000 list, the V-Series variant adds a second variant to the newly consolidated 2027 Lyriq line-up, which recently shrank to just one variant: the Lyriq Sport ($90,000 before on-roads).
The dual-motor Lyriq-V ‘large SUV’ outputs a combined 459kW and 880Nm, with claimed 3.6-second 0-100km/h performance brisk enough to claim the mantle of its maker’s quickest production car yet. Top speed is 210km/h.
It’s powered by a 92kWh Lithium-ion NMC battery and offers an “estimated” combined range claim of 471km WLTP. Peak DC charging is 130kW.
The near-2.7-tonne V-Series differs from the regular (1.3sec-slower) Sport with larger Satin Graphite 22-inch wheels and subtle styling enhancements outside, including front and lower fascia tweaks, body coloured wheel mouldings and unique side skirting.
The quicker version adds a dedicated V-Mode suite that brings launch control and Competitive Mode drive functionality.
Further, Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement brings sonic fanfare such as revised sound themes for acceleration and regen, and an “e-rev experience” for racecar noises when parked or “in neutral”.
Elsewhere, the lowered V-spec suspension adds adaptive valve-based Continuous Damper Control (CDC) technology while fitting the same Brembo-sourced braking as the regular Sport.
In-cabin tech, general feature and active safety are common between both MY27 Lyriq variants. This includes a 33-inch LED display, 126-colour ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof. However, the V-spec brings Noir nappa leather trim.
