2026 Subaru Uncharted confirmed for Australia, as electric Toyota C-HR twin and Crosstrek sibling

Packing incredible punch and a range in excess of 500km, Subaru’s next and cheapest EV is closing in on Aussie shores in 2026

Subaru has confirmed the Uncharted small SUV will join its Australian lineup in mid-2026, as its most affordable EV offering.

At $59,990 before on-road costs, the Uncharted will come in as the smallest and cheapest of its electric lineup. Sitting under the Solterra midsize SUV and the Outback-esque Trailseeker, the Uncharted is essentially an EV alternative to the Crosstrek.

While detailing pricing for the new Uncharted, Subaru Australia has also confirmed a pricing drop for its Solterra and Trailseeker models.

The Solterra shaved $2k off both its AWD and AWD Touring variants, (now down to $61,990 and $67,990), while the Trailseeker, slashed $4000 from list price (now down to $63,990 and $69,990).

Sitting on the same e-TNGA platform as its EV siblings, the Uncharted is the latest Toyota-Subaru vehicle collaboration, with the former’s version badged the C-HR, though it isn’t due to arrive locally until mid-2027.

While fully electric rivals, such as the Renault Scenic E-Tech (from $55,990 MFLP), Kia EV3 (from $47,600 MFLP) and Hyundai Kona (from $54,000 MFLP) undercut the Uncharted’s list price of $59,990, none are available with AWD.

With Subaru Australia committed to only offering AWD vehicles (besides the BRZ coupe), the Uncharted will be paired exclusively with a dual-motor setup producing a combined 252kW of power – good for a 0-100km/h sprint time of approximately five seconds.

Torque has not yet been confirmed, but is expected to be in excess of 400Nm.

2026 Subaru Uncharted range and charging

A 74.7kWh CATL battery sits within the chassis, providing a claimed range of 522km, rechargeable via 150kW DC charging that will see it topped up from 10-80 percent in 30 minutes. Alternatively, 22kW AC charging should take it from flat-to-full in roughly four hours.

Subaru has also fitted 1500W V2L capability to the Uncharted, which could be handy for camping trips away.

The Uncharted sports slightly lower ground clearance of 211mm compared to its Crosstrek sibling (220mm), but the number is very competitive for the class and coincides with a suite of traction control aids which Subaru is famous for.

What features are included on the Subaru Uncharted?

With only one variant being on offer, Subaru has confirmed the Uncharted will roll on 20-inch alloy wheels and feature LED headlights, a 360-degree camera along with a long list of other safety features.

Inside, the cabin sports a dual wireless phone charger, digital instrument cluster, and a 14-inch touchscreen, along with a range of physical controls.

Even with options added (panoramic roof $1,200, panoramic roof and two-tone pain $2,400), the Uncharted sits comfortably under the more powerful (280kW) and quicker (4.4sec 0-100km/h) Trailseeker wagon.
