Renault Megane RS Trophy 2022: prices increase by $6100 as manufacturing costs rise

The majority of Renault’s range has increased in price for 2022, with the Renault Megane RS now priced from $60,090 before on-road costs

Renault has increased its prices across the majority of its Australian line-up with the Megane RS Trophy hit with a largest increase of $6100.

A significant rise in material and shipping costs have been blamed for the increases with the Kangoo small van the only model to escape a price jump and retains it’s $26,290 (before on-road costs) entry-point.

The Renault Trafic midsize van and Renault Master are up $1200 and $1100 respectively for 2022.

Renault has applied price increases of between $1300 to $1900 to the Captur and $600 to $1100 to the Arkana small SUV, depending on the grade. The French marque’s strongest seller in the Koleos midsize SUV has seen smaller price rises of $600 and $900.

The new pricing comes into effect as of March 1st, 2022.

Despite the price rise, which is now commonplace across a multitude of manufacturers, Renault Australia’s general manager Glen Sealey said its models still offered a strong value proposition to buyers.

“The Renault range still represents a premium European offering combined with genuine value thanks to its high-levels of safety, technology and cutting-edge design.

“With strategic additions like the Arkana R.S. Line, we’re broadening the Renault range in preparation for the product offensive coming soon with a refreshed commercial range, the all-new Megane E-Tech in 2023 and much more to come,” Mr Sealey said.
