Return of the MU-X Tour Mate adds onto LS-T trim grade with significantly more equipment at a markable price increase
Isuzu Ute Australia has confirmed its MU-X ‘Tour Mate’ special edition will return, as part of the Japanese company’s recently launched MY25.5 D-Max and MU-X updates.
Building upon the MU-X LS-T, the ‘Tour Mate’ package primarily adds a satin black steel bull bar (can be exchanged for polished alloy), tow bar kit (50mm ball, 12-pin harness, E-brake controller), rubber floor mats, and a wireless charger for $79,990 drive-away.
The Tour Mate package was previously available for MY24 MU-X models, then costing $73,990 drive-away.
Predominantly, the MU-X Tour Mate package looks to add an adventurous, yet family focused advantage over rivals Ford Everest Platinum ($82,990 + on-roads), Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Kakadu ($99,900 + on-roads), and GWM Tank 500 ($75,990 drive-away).
Isuzu says its adventure-ready package represents nearly $9000 worth of value, meaning buyers save around $8395 on commonly selected options when compared to specifying a $79,385 (NSW drive-away) MU-X LS-T.
Despite Isuzu’s recent launching of a new 2.2-litre engine and eight-speed transmission for its D-Max and MU-X models, the Tour Mate will only be available with a 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four cylinder mated to a six-speed conventional automatic.
This capability is furthered by standard dual-range 4×4 and a 3500kg braked towing capacity.
