Not long after the MINI JCW Millbrook Edition was revealed to the world, the brand has revealed yet another special edition car that, this time, celebrates the 60th anniversary of the brand’s existence. Called the MINI 60 Years Edition, the special MINI earns a number of special equipment items to distinguish it from regular MINI models.
Not yet confirmed for Australia, the MINI 60 Years Edition goes on sale in European markets later in 2019.
“An original that constantly reinvents itself – firmly rooted in tradition yet always open to change: this is MINI, 60 years after the launch of the small British car that brought worldwide popularity to unique properties such as go-kart feeling and the creative use of space.” said the company.
“To mark this round anniversary, the premium automobile manufacturer presents a design model that highlights both its British origins and the agile MINI character.”
Available in both three- and five-door bodystyles and with various engine options in Europe, the 60 Years Edition features a number of bespoke touches to distinguish it from other MINI models. It’s finished in a shade of British Racing Green as standard, though four other colours are available. A white or black roof is also standard equipment.
Unique 17-inch alloy wheels are fitted, while 60 Years badging on the door sills, stripes and quarter panels mark the exterior changes. Inside, the 60 Years logo is embossed in the front seat headrests, dashboard trim pieces and steering wheel, while the leather upholstery is finished in a unique shade of brown with lime green piping.
Buyers of the 60 Years Edition in Europe also receive the 60 Years Chilli package, which equips the car with LED headlights, LED front foglamps, white indicators and the Union Jack tailights. The LED puddle projection also displays the 60 Years logo.
The MINI 60 Years Edition is not yet confirmed for Australia, though it is likely to be sold here before the end of 2019.
