GWM will broaden its Haval H6 midsize SUV offerings with two new powertrains, adding a plug-in hybrid to its Lux grade, and new mild-hybrid all wheel drive to the Ultra grade.
GWM’s H6 Lux PHEV is priced from $44,990 drive-away (DA) – outpricing the $47,990 DA Ultra PHEV to become the cheapest plug-in hybrid H6 available.
The Lux mild-hybrid, priced at $47,490 DA, is uniquely equipped with all wheel drive – the sole AWD MHEV available in the H6 range.
The system supports EV driving to all four wheels, and commands a $3500 premium over the current Ultra mild-hybrid front driver.

GWM Haval’s cheaper PHEV contends with other sharply priced plug-in rivals from China, predominantly, the $44,400 BYD Sealion 6 Essential, $37,990 Chery Tiggo 7 CHS Urban, and $50,990 MG HS SHS Excite. Prices shown are drive-away.
Meanwhile, adding all-wheel drive to GWM Haval’s mild hybrid system will aid the H6 in outpricing MHEV AWD segment leaders Subaru Forester ($46,490), Toyota RAV4 GX ($45,260), and Hyundai Tucson Elite ($50,600). Prices shown are before on-road costs.
The two new powertrains will be available to order from mid-September. All GWM vehicles offer a seven year / unlimited kilometre warranty, with a separate eight year / unlimited kilometre warranty applying for vehicle battery packs.
