Haval H6 Vanta 2022: blacked-out Ultra special edition set for Australian release

GWM has announced a new flagship for its Haval H6 midsize SUV badged the Vanta.

Based on the current range-topping Ultra variant ($38,990), the $39,990 Vanta grabs blacked-out exterior goodies including black 19-inch alloy wheels and a black front grille, while four paint colours are available: Golden Black, Hamilton White, Burgundy Red and Blue Sapphire.

The Vanta carries over all the current technology from the Ultra variant, which includes a panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen, heads-up display, wireless charging, heated steering wheel and seats and automatic parking. 

The Haval has a safety suite of features including seven airbags, AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree camera. 

Powering the Haval H6 Vanta is the same engine as the rest of the range: a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 150kW of power and 320Nm of torque. 

All variants of the H6 are exclusively mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Like the Ultra grade, AWD is optional on the Vanta and carries a $2000 penalty.

All Haval H6s are supported by GWM’s seven year unlimited kilometre warranty, along with receiving five years roadside assist and five years of capped price servicing. 

Just 1000 Vantas will be offered for the Australian and New Zealand market, making this car extremely limited when compared to its main competitors such as the Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester and Mazda CX-5. 

Since the new-gen H6 launched in Australia in April 2021, 3635 have been sold to local buyers.
