European 250kW dual-motor medium electric brings few surprises in ‘deep’ facelift form, but now comes in a tasty wagon choice, with an Elroq RS hatch to follow
Skoda Australia has confirmed the pricing and specifications for the forthcoming RS version of the ‘deep facelifted’ electric Enyaq medium SUV range, with the go-fast dual-motor EV to be offered in both new ‘SUV’ (aka wagon) and carryover Coupe body styles.
Priced from $75,490 before on-roads, the RS SUV kicks the lineup off, featuring the same 250kW and 545Nm outputs as the pre-facelifted (Coupe-only) predecessor. It’s a $1000 upcharge ($76,490 list) for the slightly less practical if marginally longer-range RS Coupe.
Those range claims? They’re longer in MY25 guise, with the aerodynamically slipperier RS Coupe’s peak now a claimed 534km WLTP for the combined cycle. The boxier wagon body style of the SUV pegs the range peak back by 11 kilometres (to 523km combined).
Skoda quotes ranges of 637km and 646km for the SUV and Coupe respectively for the urban cycle.
Boost range comes courtesy primarily from a larger 84kWh gross (79kWh net) lithium-ion battery pack, with a peak DC charging rate of 185kW. The 10-80 percent DC fast-charge is claimed to be 26 minutes (with 8.0 hours for the 11kW-capped AC charge to 100 percent).
Performance? Either version is said to hit 100km/h from a standstill in 5.4 seconds, with top speed capped at 180km/h.
Specifications changes are sparse, limited to a new 21-inch ‘Vision’ wheel design as well as the obligatory Modern Solid exterior redesign together with the Tech Deck front fascia’s LED DRLs as seen on already released, rear-drive (MY26) 85 Sportline variants.
Heated and ventilated front seats are also listed as new features.
Elsewhere, the RS models carry over Matrix LED headlights, 13-inch touchscreen multimedia, leather and leatherette mix seat trim, three-zone climate control, and a long list of both premium flagship features and Skoda’s signature ‘simply clever’ touches, such as the the umbrella tucked into the driver’s door.
Both the SUV and Coupe are available in nine different colours, including a new Smokey Silver metallic finish as well as the infamously eye-burning Mambo Green as seen on its forebear.
The new MY26 Enyaq RS range is set to hit local showrooms “in a matter of weeks” says its importer.
Skoda aficionados after a similar electro-mechanical combination in a smaller package won’t have to wait long – Q3 this year – for the Enyaq’s shorter technical twin, in the first-ever Elroq RS.
While Skoda Australia hasn’t released any further details on the Elroq RS at the time of publishing, it’s expected that the dual-motor go-fast ‘hatch’ will clock in at around $70K before on-road costs.
All prices listed are before on-road costs.
