Ram 1500 TRX SRT 2027: Supercharged V8 monster ute returning to Australia, priced from $259,950

Ram Trucks Australia has confirmed the revived 1500 TRX will be returning Down Under with an eye-watering price tag of $259,950 plus on-road costs in the first half of 2027.

Now rebranded the 1500 TRX SRT, the off-road performance ute will continue to be powered by a supercharged 6.2-litre Hemi V8 – producing 580kW and 922Nm in the US market.

For context, the TRX SRT’s closest local competitor in ethos, the midsize Ford Ranger Raptor starts at $90,690 before on-road costs and produces 292kW and 583Nm from a twin-turbo V6.

Despite costing over a quarter of a million dollars, Ram previously sold nearly 1000 examples of the TRX between mid-2022 and late 2025 in Australia and New Zealand, earning it a slice of the US production despite demand for the pickup locally.

“Supply of the new TRX will initially be restricted because demand is off the charts in the US, however the factory has been incredibly supportive of the Australian market and we are pleased to confirm the TRX is coming back,” Jeff Barber, the General Manager of Ram Trucks Australia said in a statement.

Following a notable sales slump in the US after the V8 was discontinued across the 1500 range in favour of the ‘Hurricane’ straight-six, the TRX was revived under new management in January 2026.

Despite the enormous price tag, metallic paint will still cost buyers an extra $950 – with Bright White, Diamond Black, Forged Blue, Molten Red, Serrano Green and Spitfire Orange confirmed for Australia.

No further details have been given from Ram Trucks Australia beyond that, but specification is expected to largely mirror the US, including the advanced Bilstein suspension system.

Featuring a continuously variable system with dual-calve technology and remote reservoirs, the suspension boasts 330mm of travel in the front and 355mm in the rear. With the 2855kg ute said to be built with getting airborne very much in mind.

It’s expected to join a wealth of other high-tier features, including a luxurious leather interior, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 10-speaker stereo, a panoramic sunroof and much more.

The full details will be released closer to the model’s release early next year.
