Hyundai Palisade 2026: Second generation set to launch in Australia with one variant later this year

Will updated styling, pretty colours, and cool tech win over large SUV buyers?

The second-generation Hyundai Palisade is set to hit the Australian market in the last quarter of this year, and here at Chasing Cars, we think the new look Palisade is rather handsome – but are its talents just skin deep?

Senior contributor, Nathan Ponchard, sampled a pre-production version of the Palisade at our test track ahead of the official Australian launch and shared his thoughts in our official review, which you can watch here.

The new Palisade will cost you a pretty penny, stretching an extra $11k more than its predecessor, reaching roughly around $90,000 before on road costs – and with only one on offer at launch, the top spec Calligraphy, there won’t be a more affordable option until 2026.

One thing we all love to hear in the Chasing Cars office, is ‘Australian tuning’ … and yes, Hyundai have tuned the dampers and steering for the horrible Australian roads.

While Nathan only got to drive the Palisade on our test track, it is still a telling stretch of bitumen, and the ride comfort didn’t disappoint thus far.

The interior styling, build quality and tech that is throughout the cabin is also fantastic, with a powered adjusted steering wheel, heated seats in the second and third row, and a one touch button to fold down the second and third row from the boot. It can also comfortably fit six adults.

While Nathan’s first impressions were overall positive, he did comment that having a V6 powertrain and two more gears for the transmission would be more desirable.

But there was still plenty of power coming from the 2.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid, four-cylinder all-wheel drive, six-speed automatic, producing 245kW/460Nm
