After selling 300 manuals in five hours, Suzuki hopes to sell 300 autos just as rapidly
The Suzuki Jimny Heritage has returned, except for a pedal and a gear.
After selling out its 2023 run of 300 in a day, Suzuki Australia announced another 300 today. Available to pre-order now through Suzuki’s dealerships from $42,490 drive-away nationwide, it’s approximately $1500 more than the normal car.
It’s exclusively a three-door, with those wanting a five-door Jimny XL Heritage to miss out.
Those wanting to shift their own gears will also miss out – unlike the manual-only 2023 Heritage edition, this new batch is auto-only.
The four-speed auto is paired to the same 1.5-litre inline-four, making 75kW and 130Nm. It feeds a dual-range transfer case with four-wheel drive.
The ‘Heritage’ you get for your $1500 includes red mud flaps front and back, a special cargo tray, red and orange decals running from the front fender to the spare wheel, a numbered badge stating which of the 600 you own, and finally an otherwise unexplained “exclusive Jimny Heritage pack”. Merch, maybe?
Available in Superior White, Medium Grey and Jungle Green, the latter two incur a $745 mark-up.
