Mazda CX-60 2025: entry price drops more than $10,000 for updated challenger to Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Lexus NX

Major price and mechanical revisions for the midsized Mazda SUV that aims to have a foot in both the mainstream and luxury camps

Mazda has added new entry models and lowered prices across the board as part of the update for its ambitious midsize SUV, the CX-60.

The CX-60 that was released in 2022 as a posher alternative to Mazda’s big-selling CX-5 medium SUV is now available from $50,240 – an entry price $10,560 lower than before.

A new Pure base-model grade helps the cheaper CX-60 pricing, though Mazda has also cut thousands of dollars from price tags for carry-over Evolve, GT, and Azami grades.

The CX-60 Evolve now kicks off $5560 cheaper at $55,240 before on-road costs (BORC), the GT starts $4560 lower at $64,240 BORC, and the flagship Azami entry point is cut from $74,000 to $68,440 BORC.

Mazda Australia has introduced an additional Touring trim grade that sits in the middle of the line-up and is priced from $58,240.

A $53,990 “introductory” drive-away offer is available for the 2025 Mazda CX-60, though Mazda doesn’t state when that deal will end.

The revised pricing creates a small overlap between the CX-60 and top-spec (Akera) versions of the CX-5, while the new Pure and cheaper Evolve grades put the company’s more premium-skewed SUV in the mix against higher-end versions of the popular Toyota RAV4, Mitsubishi Outlander, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and Nissan X-Trail.

Year to date, the CX-60 leads the Medium SUV $60,000+ category with nearly 2000 sales and a 14 per cent market share.

Every model grade is offered with the same trio of carry-over powertrains, which comprise a 3.3-litre turbo petrol six-cylinder,  3.3-litre turbo diesel six-cylinder, and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine and electric motor.

The diesel continues to carry a $2000 premium over the petrol, and the PHEV drivetrain remains the most expensive powertrain option – costing more than $11,000 above the diesel.
