First official images of Toyota’s 2026 Hilux released alongside confirmation of November 10 launch date
Toyota has revealed a single darkened image of its upcoming ninth-generation Hilux, confirming the new ute will launch publicly at 6am CET (4pm AEDT) November 10th, 2025.
Toyota Europe has published a single image of the new Hilux’s front end, though more is revealed by Toyota Thailand in a social media reel.
The heavily anticipated November unveiling for Toyota’s hugely popular rival to the Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max will mark the first time in 10 years that Toyota has produced a new-generation Hilux ute, excluding the smaller and largely unrelated Hilux Champ.
The current eight-generation Toyota Hilux launched globally in May 2015, before being locally updated in both cosmetics and trim grades in 2017 (TRD pack), 2018 (Rugged X, Rugged, Rouge variants introduced), 2020 (range-wide facelift), 2022 (enhancements to Hilux Rouge), and 2023 (GR Sport variant).
It is expected that Toyota’s new Hilux will carry over many existing components, including its turbo diesel engine, though infotainment and safety are among areas that will bring anticipated upgrades, along with revised styling.
The teaser images and video of the new Hilux point to visual changes such as a more muscular bonnet, slimmer headlights, and a Toyota script instead of badge (though the current Hilux GR Sport also differs in this respect in the outgoing range).
There will also be new tail-lights and new wheel designs.
A Toyota Japan Motor Show presentation has also suggested an electric Hilux will be in the mix at some point.
Chasing Cars will publish full details and coverage of the 2026 Toyota Hilux across next week, starting Monday 10 November.
