The reduced importing costs associated with the Australia-Japan Free Trade Agreement continue to flow through the new car market, with Honda the latest manufacturer to offer discounts – this time for the Odyssey people mover that leads the MPV segment.
Both Odyssey models receive discounts on their list prices of around $1,500. The latest Odyssey generation launched last year as part of a dramatic facelifting of the van, moving from the previous model’s low-and-long, estate-like shape, to a high-riding, boxier style offering easier access for passengers.
Both cars share a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol and a continuously-variable automatic transmission.
The eight-seat base VTi, listing at $37,610, is down $1,380 from its 2014 price. It’s equipped with a power sliding doors, a retractable third row, and HDMI capability.
While the flagship VTi-L is only a seven-seater, it has two captain’s chairs in the second row – and leather, Honda’s (rather busy) Display Audio system and assisted parking are all standard. The $46,040 list price is down $1,580.
All prices are RRP list prices, before on-road costs or options.
