Tweaked MY26 Kia K4 adds a hatchback body style and ditches entry grade six-speed auto for new CVT paired with fuel-efficient 2.0-litre four
Kia Australia has priced its updated MY26 K4, set to arrive by the end of November 2025. The revised model will finally offer a hatchback body, available across all trim grades, some 12 months after the sedan locally debuted.
The K4 range sees a range-wide price increase of $1500, now starting from $32,090 before on-road costs for the base ‘S’. Note the range topping Sport+, now $39,090 (up $1600), and GT-Line, now $43,790 (up $800), are the exceptions to this blanket change.
Kia’s K4 hatch will be available across all trim grades, with price parity to the sedan versions.
Introducing a hatch-bodied K4 should help the Korean compact better rival the (from $32,110) Toyota Corolla and (from $31,310 Mazda 3). Both competitors already offer the choice of sedan or hatchback.
The revised K4 debuts a new ‘Atkinson Cycle’ 2.0-litre petrol, which also exchanges the outgoing six-speed automatic for a CVT design.
While the fuel economy claim improves from 7.4L/100km to 6.0L/100km, maximum outputs drop slightly, from 112kW/192Nm to 110kW/180Nm.
The range-topping GT-Line will continue to offer a 142kW/265Nm 1.6-litre turbo-petrol mated to a conventional eight-speed automatic. All Kia K4’s are front-drive only.
THe K4 hatchback is around 300mm shorter than its sedan counterpart, measuring 4440mm long, 1850mm wide, and 1435mm tall. Both bodies ride on a 2720mm wheelbase.
Aside from a new body shape, there are no external or internal changes planned for the Kia K4 for 2026. Further details on existing equipment between grades can be found here.
