First midsize SUV from Geely’s ‘premium’ Chinese brand, Zeekr, undercuts key rivals despite generous spec sheet
The Zeekr 7X will be released in Australia with a starting price of $57,900 before on-road costs for a highly-equipped Rear-Wheel Drive base model.
Kick-starting sales will be a special offer for the first 1000 preorders that sees early adopters pick up a seven year warranty (from five), 7kW wallbox, and two charging cables included, while exterior and interior colour choices are complimentary during the offer.
From the base grade, which utilises a 71kWh (usable) LFP ‘Golden Battery’ capable of 450kW charging rates, the Zeekr 7X Australian range moves onto a Long Range RWD model ($63,900+ ORCs) and a Performance AWD spec ($72,900 + ORCs).
The Long Range RWD and Performance AWD variants both utilise a 94kWh (usable) nickel manganese cobalt battery that still offers 420kW peak DC charging capability. All specs are 800-volt.
Driving range on the WLTP testing cycle spans 480km (RWD), 615km (Long Range RWD), and 543km (Performance AWD).
Built atop the Geely group’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, the Zeekr 7X, with the most direct relation within Geely being the Smart #5 that is coming to Australia later in 2025.
Both rear-wheel drive variants have 310kW of power and 440Nm from their single rear motor. The RWD grades have 19-inch wheels and passive dampers.
Meanwhile, the Performance AWD adds a potent additional front motor for combined outputs of 475kW/710Nm, while picking up 21-inch alloys, air suspension, and continuously adaptive dampers.
Onyx Black is the standard colour with Crystal White, Tech Grey and Forest Green attracting a premium (once the launch offer expires). The Long Range AWD and Performance AWD can also be painted Brock Blue with a silver roof.
Inside, black vinyl is standard, with the Long Range RWD picking up cooled seats as well as the further option of a black/dark grey interior colourway. The Performance AWD has nappa leather seating available in black, black/grey, or purple/white.
Standard specification for the $57,900 RWD base grade include:
From there, it’s a $6000 step into the Long Range RWD, which gains 135km of additional range (to 615km) and:
Finally, it’s a $9000 leap into the dual-motor Performance AWD, which also gains additional spec in the form of:
